Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPL)

Concealed Pistol Licenses are processed for applicants with physical addresses within the Stanwood area 98292 zip code only. Applications are available at the police department or click here to download an application.

Originals/New Applications:  Applicant will need to be fingerprinted. We provide fingerprinting on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1:00pm – 4:45pm.

Applying for a CPL and Fees

The initial application takes around 30 minutes.  

·         You must be 21 years of age or older.

·         You must be a citizen of the United States.

·         You must live within the Stanwood area 98292 zip code, or outside the State of Washington.

·         You need to have picture ID (a Washington State Driver's License or ID card is preferred).  Your name and address on your license must match address given on your application.

·         Fees may be paid by cash or checks. (Exact change is helpful)

·         Originals/New applications need to be fingerprinted and the fee is $55.25.

·         Renewals may be applied for up to 90 days before the expiration date: $32.00

·         Late/Renewals may be applied for up to 90 days past the expiration date: $42.00

·         Replacements (lost, address or name change, etc) : $10.00

·         Signed licenses will be mailed out to the applicant.

The Washington State Attorney General's website provides a list of states that have reciprocity with Washington for concealed pistol licenses.

The Stanwood Police Department will issue concealed pistol licenses to out-of-state residents. You must appear in person at their department.  The requirements and fees are the same as listed above.
