The Human Resources Department works to provide administrative support and strategic advice to City employees, managers, the Mayor and the City Council in the areas of labor relations, employee relations, benefits, staffing, payroll, wellness and safety. The department is also charged with ensuring that the City complies with all federal and state employment laws as well as the policies outlined in the Stanwood Municipal Code, union collective bargaining agreements and the Personnel Policy. The Human Resources Department coordinates the Risk Management Program including claims for damages and acts as a liaison to the City's insurance provider.
